At Singapore Computer Guys, we believe that technology is not just about systems and support, it’s also a tool for empowerment and community-building. In late July 2025, we proudly hosted our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Tech for Tomorrow: Empowering Students with Laptops for Education, which brought together heart, hardware, and hope for families in need.
Empowering the Community with Purpose
In partnership with the Zhenghua community leaders, our team rolled out a community-focused initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide for underserved students and families. We donated refurbished laptops, monitors, and complete work-from-home setups to empower students in their learning journey.
From planning to setup, our entire team was hands-on, embodying the same spirit of service that we deliver to our clients every day.
A Heartfelt Turnout in Zhenghua
Held in the heart of Zhenghua, the event saw a warm turnout from residents, families, and community leaders. We were especially honored by the presence of Minister Edward Chia, whose longstanding dedication to the community continues to inspire.
To support holistic digital development, we didn’t just give out devices, we also aimed to guide how they’re used. As part of the event, our Founder & CEO, Julian Ma, led a meaningful sharing session on responsible screen time, where he spoke directly to parents and children about cultivating healthy digital habits from the start.
Julian also emphasized the importance of balancing digital use with real-life connections, encouraging families to spend more time bonding offline: through conversation, outdoor play, and shared activities.
Throughout the event, from laptop handovers to on-site tech support, our CG IT team was fully engaged, assisting attendees with setup, answering technical questions, and ensuring each family left with not just the equipment, but confidence to use it well.
Inspired by Leadership, Driven by Values
This project was initiated by Julian, our homegrown entrepreneur and long-time advocate of giving back to the community that helped shape his journey. Julian’s leadership is anchored in the belief that businesses should be a force for greater social good. His commitment to community service is not a one-off gesture, but a sustained ideology that influences how we operate as a company. His hands-on involvement and personal dedication continually inspire us to think beyond the workplace and to act with purpose, empathy, and intention.
As Julian shared:

The initiative is also a reflection of our company’s larger vision of “Delivering the Experience” and living out our core value of the Service experience, not only to our clients , but also in the meaningful, lasting impact we strive to create in society.
